Brenda Mallet Farmer is a native of Lynchburg, Virginia and the daughter of the late Josephine and Albert Mallet Sr. Brenda has been married for the past fifty years to Deacon James Farmer. They have five magnificent children, twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Brenda attended public school in Lynchburg, Virginia and as a youngster developed an enthusiastic pleasure in helping others. Brenda worked as a nursing assistant at Lynchburg General before starting her education at Central Va. College where she graduated with a degree in Bookkeeping, and Clerical Studies.  She also attended Lynchburg College and Virginia University of Lynchburg at the same time graduating with Two BA’s and a Minor in Religion. Brenda received her Master’s in Theology from Eastern Theological Seminary.

At an early age she gave her life to Jesus.  She attends Court Street Baptist Church, Lynchburg, Virginia. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Delta Sigma Phi, Order of Eastern Star, Pride of Lynchburg Temple Elks and Virginia State Daughter of Elks.  Currently she is on several community Boards. She was recently appointed by Daughter State President Directress of Consecration for the State of VA Daughter of Elks.

Brenda retired from General Electric after laboring for thirty two years. In order to accomplish her dream of learning, she worked part time at Best Products and H.R. Tax Service.  Brenda Farmer realizes that God is the Giver of all gifts, and considers it of greatest significance that she now has the job of being a “proud professional volunteer” using the gifts God gave her to help the community in which she lives.   She has received a number of awards, presentations, medals and citations.
