Bertha D. Woodson was born, raised and educated in Virginia. She received her Doctor of Divinity, Master of Divinity, Master of Religious Education and Bachelors of Theology from Eastern Theological Eastern Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia. She also received a degree in General Bible Studies from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She started her own business in April, 1991 after graduating from Class One Design School for Hair in Lynchburg, Virginia and Dudley’s Cosmetology University in Kernersville, North Carolina. She is the owner of Bertha’s House of Styles, which she still enjoys today.
Dr. Woodson practices what she teaches and preaches. She accepted her call into the ministry in 2008 and was ordained in 2011. She is an ordained Associate Minister at First Baptist Church of South Lynchburg were she serves on different ministries in the church. She was the chairman of Deaconess ministry, adult Sunday School teacher, Womens Choir, youth teacher at Vacation Bible School. She currently serves as an advisor for the Deaconess ministry, head usher, and Chaplin for usher ministry, Women of Faith ministry, Praise and Worship ministry, jail ministry. In addition, she started a Prayer Warrior ministry.
She has a wonderful husband (George) a daughter (Kristy) and two grandchildren (Keziah and Karnelle).
